From 3D to the surfboard in seaweed and recycled fishing nets

Reading time : <1 minute

Making environmentally friendly surfboards as efficient as those made from petroleum, such is the challenge taken up by two young entrepreneurs based in Douarnenez. The concept of their company 3FLD, is based on a 3D printing, a matrix made up of green algae from stranding and used fishing nets as well as a stratification made from flax. All produced in a short circuit, promoting local Breton know-how. Production could start in early 2021.
